"It is not that I object to work; it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours. I love to keep it by me. The idea of getting rid of it nearly breaks my heart." Jerome Jerome, English Writer and Humorist

If they were a church, people would be flocking to their door.
They don't hold grudges, and never utter an unkind word.
They don't even get mad when someone takes a shot at one of their "congregation," landing him in intensive care, or when they themselves are threatened with bodily harm.
When they are lied to, they send an "invitation" to the liar to come and tell her side of the story, behind closed doors. To those who have committed numerous crimes while in office, they are quick to grant immunity.
And transgressions? In their book, there aren't any.
Their enemies can do whatever they want.
Take a hammer or a delete button to what would be called "evidence," send a boatload of unmarked cash to Iran, in the dark of night.
Hustle an Islamic terrorist from Guantanamo off to Canada to collect his $8 million from the Canadian prime minister, and they avert their eyes, and never, ever judge.
Their mantra is, "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth," so they always turn the other cheek, and then the other cheek, time after time.
But this isn't a church. This is the United States Congress, Republican Congressmen. And a meeker bunch you'll never meet.
When it comes to getting anything done, they don't know how. Eight years, six months, it doesn't matter. They have no idea what the American people want and no interest in finding out.
Since Inauguration Day, one thing has become chillingly clear: Republican Congressmen don't want to get any jobs done if it is something Donald Trump wants. There is no "Rallying 'Round the Flag," no righteous indignation, if it has something to do with Donald Trump.
Resistance? It's not just for Democrats anymore.
Fund The Wall? Repeal/replace Obamacare? Nope.
When their president is accused of collaborating with the Russians, Republicans stand by, deaf and dumb, while former FBI Director Comey "appoints" a Special Counsel, and that Special Counsel assembles a Pro-Clinton-Democrat team of lawyers to "impartially investigate."
But these guys and gals always have time for the TV cameras. They are in sinc with the Leftist media, and even the "good" media, who have turned news coverage into sheer gossip.
Little interest was shown for the president's historic trip to Poland, and his moving, patriotic speech, except to focus on what handshakes were given, which weren't, and if given, what that handshake meant.
A Huntley or a Brinkley would have provided a running commentary for their viewers on the history of Poland, and the brave Polish people who suffered through, and survived under, Nazi and Communist rule.
But reporters and Republican elected officials weren't interested. It's possible they don't know the history of Poland. Or World War II. But if they do, they've been trained not to do that "sort of thing" anymore.
If these Congressmen were lawyers, prepping for a trial, would they plan on failing the way they are? Would they litigate the way they've been legislating?
Or would they beat the bushes to find every living person who could bolster their case, as witnesses? Would they read their file, know it backwards and forwards, pinpoint the problems, identify the sticking points, and then work to fix them?
And finally, would they ever dare to tell the Judge they weren't ready to proceed, that they needed another eight years?
Unfortunately The Swamp has become a cushy place for Republicans and Democrats alike.
In a recent televised meeting at the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program in Dallas, best buds Bill Clinton of Lewinski-Loretta-Lynch-Tarmac-Fame, and George Bush, a staunch member of the Republican-Anti-Trump-Establishment-Caucus, pontificated on "rising above the political contest."
Both men took snide pot shots at our current president, but neither man had a disparaging word to say about President Obama's time in the White House, a time during which he systematically dismantled our Constitution. Hmmm.
"Clinton was humble in victory, which is very important in dealing with other people," Bush said. "And I think Dad was willing to rise above the political contest. In other words, it starts with the individual's character..."
Yes, George, it does start with character. Too bad you and your family didn't rise above the political contest to support Donald Trump. Our Elected President.
You're right, George. It all does start with character.
Hold the line, America.
