Trump Needs a Big, Big Broom

          What the heck is going on at the FBI?

          Madonna says she wants to blow up the White House;

          SnoopDogg shoots a President Trump-look-alike in his video;

          A laptop containing the floor plans of Trump Tower is stolen from a Secret Service Agent's car, at her home in Brooklyn, and the FBI can't find it;

          And the Boston Bomber flies back and forth to Russia while on the FBI's "Watch Out for These Guys List," but ultimately slips through the Bureau's fingers.

          What does it take to get arrested nowadays?

          It can't be "Proof," or "Evidence." There was plenty of both in the Hillary e-mail scandal, and the FBI and DOJ gave her a clean bill of health.

          It can't be about keeping the country safe. If it was, Huma Abedin would be in deep trouble.

          And she's not.

          She left a "burn bag" containing classified government documents on the seat of her car...in India;

          She transferred Hillary's State Department confidential e-mails to the laptop she shared with husband, Anthony Weiner, kept in their Manhattan apartment, while Weiner was under investigation for his extra-curricular, online, sexual hi-jinks.

          And nada was done to Huma. And the FBI never raised the valid point: That Weiner's relationship to Huma, and his risky personal behavior was a grave threat to our national security, like they did with Gen. Petraeus.

          How can that be?

          Maybe the FBI is understaffed and underpaid. The Secret Service said their agents are, after the latest interloper jumped over the White House fence.

          Maybe the FBI gets too much information. In 2011 the Russian authorities informed them the soon-to-be-Boston Bomber, Tamerian Tsarnaev, was a known associate of militant Islamists, two years before the Boston Bombing. And the FBI did nothing.

          Or maybe they don't have enough time to do their jobs. No. It can't be that. Agents breezed through 650,000 e-mails on Huma and hubby's laptop, in a record-breaking eight days.

          They cleared Hillary after one weekend interview, probably because they didn't bother to tape it and Comey didn't attend.

          And they were able to find Tom Brady's stolen jersey in Mexico a month after it was stolen.

          But it's a whole different story when it comes to investigating Donald Trump.

          Comey admits the FBI has been investigating the Trump-Wiretapping-Election-Russian-Connection since last year, last July, but says it is still incomplete. And denies Trump has been "surveilled," but didn't say how they did that. But probably without wiretapping.

          But, hey. Forget about national security, Hillary, Huma, the Russians, political bias and everything else the FBI did or didn't do. Anyone with a heart knows what the real problem is at the FBI.

          It's the health and general welfare of Director James Comey. The man is in terrible shape.

          Every time he holds a press conference, and it's too often for a man in the Spy vs. Spy game, he behaves like he's being held hostage. He says what he's told to say, like Hillary is innocent, but you can tell he doesn't mean it, because his eyes are signaling, "Help me!" And he's giving you all the evidence that would make her a Person of Interest. Big league.

          All that's missing is his American flag lapel pin flying upside down.

          Do you think somebody has something on him? That could be why his decisions are so wacky.

          It was kind of President Trump to welcome James Comey into a meeting at the White House and allow the man to keep his job. But was it wise?

          The security leaks are getting worse. Bureau investigation rules are being applied inconsistently, one way for liberals, another for conservatives, and some just for Donald Trump because he was elected president.

          Politicization of the Office of the Director of the FBI is a fact. But that isn't the FBI we know and love. Or maybe it is.

          J. Edgar headed up the FBI for a half century and routinely ordered illegal surveillance of perceived political enemies and enemies of the state, such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. So maybe the FBI apple hasn't fallen so far from the tree.

          Reluctant as we may be to think it, much less say it, the Deep State is alive and kicking in the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

          This week Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) raised a red flag with information that conflicted with Comey's information. Comey claimed that President Trump and his transition team were not wiretapped by President Obama. But Nunes says otherwise.

          "I have seen intelligence reports that clearly show that the president-elect and his team were, I guess, at least monitored," the chairman of the House intelligence Committee said this week.

          And took heat for telling the president about it.

          How will it all turn out? We'll have to wait and see. Maybe Comey will launch an investigation into the Russian Connection of John Podesta and his brother.

          John held 75,000 shares in a Russian-financed company, and brother, Tony, was paid by the Russians to lobby against sanctions in 2016, making use of his brother's Democratic Party connections.

          In the meanwhile, the president's best choice of action seems to be to buy himself a big, big broom and clean house.

          Starting with the FBI.

          Hold the line, America.
