If you want to hear what smart sounds like, all you have to do is not listen to Kamala Harris, or the anti-American-anti-Semitic mobs that are protesting on behalf of Hamas in the U.S., and instead listen to former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice when she speaks.
But you should be warned: It's been so long since we've had someone in the government that is intelligent, listening to Secretary Rice, can reduce you to tears.
The Secretary spoke with Fox's Bret Baier to discuss a recent article of hers. Her point of view? Common Sense, an appreciation of a former president's work, and an explanation of how dangerous the current administration's policies are in regard to support for Israel.
"What happened on October 7th to Israel was an act of barbarity and sophistication on the part of Hamas that I didn't think I would ever see." Secretary Rice said.
"Anyone who thinks Hamas represents the legitimate interests of the Palestinian people in any way is delusional. So the Israelis will have to reestablish deterrence.
"They will have to weaken Hamas to the degress that they can, something that, by the way, most Arab states want to see.
"One way that the Middle East changed before this for the better, through really some quite elegant diplomacy of the Trump administration.
"You got the Abraham Accords, and the Gulf Arab states, then UAE, Kuwait and others were ready to end the state of war with Israel and recognize Israel."
And then there are those who protest in support of Hamas in our country. Protest against Israel's right to exist and protect itself. And there are those people in our government who support those who support Hamas and oppose Israel.
As Prime Minister Netanyahu once said, quoting Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, "You cannot negotiate peace with someone who has come to kill you."
Hang tough.
