“The best fortress is to be found in the love of the people, for although you may have fortresses, they will not save you if you are hated by the people.” Machiavelli, The Prince

They say you can’t have it both ways, but actually you can.

Today if you’re the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, you can threaten to kill Donald Trump with a Iranian-Golf-Course-Kill-a-Trump-Drone meme and get temporarily suspended from Twitter.

While if you are the president of the United States, and inquire into election fraud, you get banned from Twitter for life.

But Trump’s not the only one.

Ask Pillow Man Mike Lindell. Ask Senators Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz. Ask the 70,000 people who were banned from Twitter for saying Trump won the election.

But it doesn’t stop at Twitter. The Biden-Democrat Cancel Culture is out to cancel those they hate until they disappear.

Ask Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the RINOs who support her latest Trump impeachment: Senators Collins, Murkowski, Sasse and Romney, and Rep Cheney.

Lindell’s products have been dropped by major stores, his tweets curiously continuing after he was no longer tweeting, his business associates targeted.

Hawley and Cruz’ “colleagues” are calling for their expulsion from the Senate for supporting a Congressional investigation of potential election fraud, with fellow Republican Ben Sasse piling on, saying, “Sen. Hawley was doing something that was really dumb-ass.”

Yes, the Cancel Culture means business, except when it comes to Democrats.

Sen. Booker, Rep. Maxine Waters, and Biden himself have used threatening words designed to incite violence against Trump and his supporters.

Rep. Swalwell hobnobs with Chinese spy Fang Fang. But have you heard anything about him being expelled from the House?

Sen. Chuck Schumer flubbed the dub when he announced Trump would be impeached because he was guilty of “erecting” an insurrection. Did anyone in the media report that ABC scrubbed this So-Joe-Gaffe from their broadcast?

Truth seems seriously overrated, as the craziness continues.

Forbes editor Randall Lane doesn’t want Trump press secretaries to be hired by anyone. Ever.

Lincoln Project members want any attorney who came within ten feet of President Trump to be disbarred.

And last week the Boston Globe announced a new program, innocuously called “Fresh Start.”

Basically, the paper will rewrite past articles if a person named in one article feels it is harmful to their reputation.

Of course, such stories do inform readers. Some might even call it “history.”

Mark Steyn pointed out an interesting fact, concerning the main character’s occupation in Orwell’s 1984.

“His job under the totalitarian state,” Steyn said, “was to go into the archives, and rewrite old newspaper stories to make them conform to the needs of the present.”

But the Globe’s editor, Brian McGrory sees this as a Racial Justice Initiative.

“Our sense, given the criminal justice system, is that this (printing articles) has had a disproportionate impact on people of color,” he said. “The idea behind the program is to start addressing it.”

He also managed to include “police bias” as “a serious problem and one the country has been grappling with for decades,” further supporting the Social Justice practiced across our country by prosecutors who refuse to prosecute.

But it’s all good.

On Jan. 5, Joe Biden appeared on the National Mall to pay tribute to American lives lost to the Chinese Virus. Images of the event blew CNN Vice President David Chalian’s socks off.

“Those lights that are shooting out of the Lincoln Memorial along the Reflecting Pool, it’s like almost extensions of Joe Biden’s arms embracing America.”

Chalian, you may recall, is the same guy who, as CNN’s political director, said, “Obviously we’re not going with the New York Post story right now on Hunter Biden.”

You know Hunter. He’s the guy who hopped out of his father’s Sunday-Go-to-Church motorcade, to adorably pick up some bagels for a family breakfast.

And Chalian was right. To this day, CNN and the rest of the mainstream media haven’t “gone with the New York Post story” on Hunter. And if it was picked up by the Boston Globe, Hunter could have asked them to kill the article.

Oh, and if you have a hankering to see Joe's Reflecting Pool, unfortuately, you can’t. The nation’s capitol is under martial law.

That’s how the Cancel Culture works.

Hold the line, America.
