Hallmark Should Dial It Back

Hallmark Christmas movies tell us what Christmas should be.

There has to be a lot of relatives, and they have to sing carols and dine on classic recipes inspired by Grandma.

It’s not wrong. But yet, actually it is.

Celebrating Christmas can be a challenging time. Memories flood in of Christmases past. It is a time when we miss the ones we’ve lost the most.

What you wouldn’t give to hear their voices again. Ask their opinion. Tell them how empty your life is without them.

But life goes on. It has to.

Today it seems we have a world that is more crazy than sane. More dangerous than safe. Hopeless. And not just at Christmas.

Joe is becoming progressively more incoherent.

The new Democrat-Media-Gaslighting-Talking-Point is that the border isn’t open. Illegal immigrants think it is because Republicans say it’s open, Democrats insist.

Democrat-Socialist-Leftists are hissy-fitting it because Elon Musk is actually using the First Amendment to run Twitter, which has left the FBI out there with its pants down.

But worst of all, Rudy Giuliani, New York’s Mayor, lost his law license in New York in 2021, And yesterday the news broke that he faces disbarment on the recommendation of the DC Bar Association, because he dared to question the 2020 election.

“We have a double standard,” Giuliani responded to the loss of his license. “There’s no doubt if I was representing Hillary Clinton, I’d be their hero.”

Is it fair? No. Is he still standing? Yes, he is.

Rush Limbaugh said people have asked him whether it's time to panic.

“It isn’t time to panic because I’m never going to panic,” he replied. “I may die, but I’m not going to run away from the United States of America. I’m not going to give up. I’m not going to tell you to walk away.

The world lost Rush last year. To hear his voice today is heartbreaking. But Rush, like The Donald, never gave in to negativity.

Neither should we, although we are presented with reasons, every day, why we could.

But history tells us that bad times have happened before. Not just to us. Not just now.

In 1776, at 6 p.m. on Christmas night, George Washington crossed the Delaware, at a great disadvantage, he and his men suffering. But his actions made all the difference in the world for the future of our country.

On Christmas Day, President Andrew Johnson issued a blanket pardon to all Confederate soldiers.

This unconditional act of forgiveness helped to bind up the nation’s wounds after a tragic Civil War, which pitted brother against brother.

It was a controversial act, for a nation who had grave misgivings about the loyalty of these soldiers. But Johnson did it anyway.

Today the news has become something to avoid. Fake news abounds, and much of the news critical of Democrats goes unreported and bad actors left unindicted.

But life goes on. It has to. And so must we.

It is a sacred honor that, in this country, good people fight for what is right. Such as questioning election fraud. Even when the stakes are high.

And, in this country, good people support those who are brave enough to fight for the truth, even when the outcome is fraught with peril.

Bad things happen to good people. And good things, as well.

On Christmas Day, Sir Isaac Newton was born. That's good. Without him, I'm told, we’d have no gravity...

Hold the line, America.
God Bless America.
Stay strong, Patriots.
