Don’t kid yourself. Everything old isn’t new again.
Take that shirt you were going to donate to the church.
“Hey,” you say, looking it over. “What’s wrong with this? It looks great!”
And then you put it on. And you remember what’s wrong with it. There’s a button missing. It doesn’t fit right.
You should have trusted your judgment.
It’s the same with people. Like Obama and Hillary. Yup. They’re back. But they’re just older, not wiser.
Hope and Change Obama has lost his charm.
It’s not just that he promised to slow the rise of the oceans and didn’t. Or that he bragged about visiting all 57 states. Heck, Joe said he visited all 54 just last week.
It’s that he’s angry that he’s not a rock star any more.
He knows it. And you know he knows it, because this week, as the Democrat’s Savior on the Campaign Trail, he yelled a lot.
Like Joe.
And like Joe, he told a Milwaukee crowd, that Republicans are out to “gut Social Security and Medicare, then give some more tax breaks to the wealthy.” And he dismissed inflation as “a legacy of the pandemic,” and the war in Ukraine.
It’s all a lie, but what else can he to say? He sure can’t talk about Joe’s accomplishments.
He can’t say inflation was caused by the Biden administration’s continuing war on fossil fuel. Why would he? It was his war, too.
And why should he care? At all?
It’s been reported that he’s stocked up with enough propane to run the generators at his mansions, so why would he worry about people in the Northeast freezing to death this coming winter?
He wouldn’t.
This community organizer was sent out to defend indefensible candidates who’ve made names for themselves for all the wrong reasons: Fetterman, Abrams, Warnock, Whitmer, and Barnes.
And true to form, like Joe, he blamed Republicans for the assault on Paul Pelosi.
“We got politicians who work to stir up division to try to make us angry and afraid of one another for their own advantage, and all of it gets amped up, hyped up 24/7 by social media.”
Now Barry may have been referring to Trump when he said this, but inquiring minds know it was Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi herself who have encouraged violence.
As if she didn’t have enough problems, gubernatorial candidate Gov. Kathy Hochul has called upon Hillary to help with her campaign.
Why? Who knows.
Maybe because both want to be “Firsts;” Hochul as first female governor and Hillary, well, as Joe would say, you know the thing.
And both do have similar approaches to people: They don’t like them.
Hillary with her “what difference does it make,” response about her failure in Benghazi, and Hochul’s dismissive response to a question about surging subway and street violence in New York City.
“I don’t know why that’s so important to you,” Kathy snarled, responding to Rep. Lee Zeldin during their gubernatorial debate. “Anyone who commits a crime under our laws has consequences.”
Of course, that’s a lie. Just like her conspiracy claim that “manipulators” are spreading lies about crime, that the “safer places are the Democratic states.”
Lies. But people aren’t buying it. Not anymore.
Obama may have gotten a Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing, an Emmy for “best narrator” of the NetFlix “Our Great National Parks,” and two Grammys for reading his two memoirs.
And a haggard Hillary may declare, again, that she was done dirty, so she predicts the 2024 election will be stolen from Democrats.
But people know better. They've seen Hillary's Russia Collusion, and Obama's IRS persecution of conservatives.
So their words pale compared to those spoken by Donald Trump.
Their words, as Shakespeare has said, are simply tales “told by an idiot, full of sound and fury.
“Signifying nothing.”
Old clothes may look okay, but when you try them on again, you realize they’re out of fashion. And they're no longer a good fit.
It happens to people, too. Like Barack and Hillary.
Hold the line, America.
