Exasperated? Frustrated? Broke because you’re not woke?
“Change it at the voting booth!” That’s what we’re told.
Vote for people like Kevin McCarthy, Republicans tell their voters.
“I’ll save the day,” promises the Wanna’-Be-Speaker of the House.
That’s what McCarthy tells us, but it’s not what he really thinks. And it’s not what he’s going to do.
Benedict Arnold had nothing on this guy.
What McCarthy really thinks he told Liz Cheney after January 6.
There’s a tape.
In it, he blamed Trump for the January 6 riot.
He said Trump would probably be impeached, convicted, and he’d tell him to resign.
He told high level GOP members, after, it seems, making believe he supported President Trump for four years, “I’ve had it with this guy!”
He sounded like Fatty Pants Chris Christie when he ran for the hills during the Billy Bush kerfuffle.
And while he was at it, McCarthy blasted anyone who said Trump did not incite the riot, and had questions about the 2020 election.
Like Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado).
In a conversation with top Republicans, a frustrated McCarthy asked if tech companies could suspend the social media accounts of some of these Republican lawmakers, likr Boebert, according to The New York Times.
“We can’t put up with that,” McCarthy said. “Can’t they take their Twitter accounts away?”
Hypocrisy like that shouldn’t be rewarded. And yet it is.
This week Hershel Walker lost to Raphael Warnock, a man who worships at the altar of Fidel Castro, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan.
With an outcome like that, did you really think Walker ever had a shot?
Hollywood Democrats who say they support racial equality, shamelessly mocked Walker, in a last ditch effort to elect Warnock.
“It’s not about Party,” Henry “Fonzi” Winkler sneered. “It’s about being able to form a full sentence.”
“Walker is the least coherent human being to ever speak publicly.” Top Chef host (who?) Padma Lakshmi tweeted.
And Trevor Noah suggested Walker had brain damage due to his time in the NFL.
Have these hypocrites ever listened to Joe Biden talk? Did they ever question Joe and John Fetterman’s mental faculties?
Or wonder at the wonder of the speeches of Kamala Harris?
Of course, they have. But like Kevin McCarthy, they are liars.
In the current political climate, Hershel Walker never had a chance. Neither did Kari Lake in Arizona, or Kelly Tshibaka in Alaska.
Unless there are investigations into the 2020 election, as Trump and Trump supporters maintain, no Republicans will ever win an election if the election makes a difference to Democrats. Like in Arizona. Alaska. In Georgia.
And in the 2024 presidential election.
But do not despair. Think like The Donald, and pull yourself up by your mental bootstraps.
And keep believing in Good.
Because Dr. Seuss told us, “Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and twice as beautiful than you’ve ever imagined.”
Winston Churchill advised, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”
And as author Christine Mason Miller wisely wrote, “At any given moment you have the power to say, ‘This is not how the story is going to end.”
Hold the line, America.
