“A politician needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability, afterwards to explain why it didn’t happen.” Winston Churchill

Eggs are $8 dollars a dozen.
More than 5,000 airline flights were cancelled over the Christmas holiday.
Bone freezing weather and four feet of snow killed at least 32 Americans in Buffalo. But Joe and Pete aren’t upset.
It’s the Joe Biden “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” policy.
Joe and The Doctor are off to sunny St. Croix: Inground pool, three bedrooms, beachfront villa. Joe didn't have time to comment on the airline mess or the weather or the border. His jet was waiting.
When asked “Whatcha’ gonna’ do?” about the airline debacle, Secretary of Transportation Mayor Pete wished the stranded holiday travelers (who had now missed Christmas), a Happy Kwanzaa.
By the time Joe and Jill get back on January 2, all that airline-weather stuff should be over. And as for Pete. Well, he’s just Pete.
Last August he told us he had the airline crisis under control. The delays, cancellations.
...So it would never happen again.
He told CNN, in August, that the Department of Transportation would hold Southwest accountable. That Southwest CEO’s promised, in writing, they would “take care of customers” during delays and cancellations.
And Pete wasn’t kidding. He never is.
“Now that we have those commitments that were made to us over the summer, we’re going to be using that as a tool to hold them accountable.”
...So that it never happens again…
Biden politicians are an easy-going bunch.
It could be because they didn't have to dig through piles of luggage trying to find the bag that has their diabetes medication this past weekend.
Or, because, as Buttigieg told Morning Joe, the real problem is “the pent-up demand for travel” Americans have, wanting to get from here, to there, by plane.
Of course, if Joe hadn’t fired Sam Brinton, luggage wouldn’t even be a problem. Sam knows his way around a Louis Vuitton.
Unfortunately, we’ve seen this before.
In 2012, Chief Justice Roberts high-tailed it to Italy to avoid the blowback after he pushed through Obamacare.
Pete Buttigieg took off to Portugal from August 29 to September 5 this year as negotiators worked to avert a nationwide rail-worker strike that could cost the U.S. economy more than $2 billion dollars per day.
He literally “phoned in” his participation in negotiations. And kept the trip on the QT.
In 2017 Gov. Chris Christie shut down state beaches on a sweltering July weekend, because of a government shutdown he caused, while he and his family basked in the sun at the closed Island Beach State Park.
And got mad when called on it.
The Chubby Governor had done something like it before, back in 2011, vacationing at Disney while the state was pummeled with 3 feet of snow.
He didn’t apologize on being MIA, but praised his state on its response to the storm.
As you can see, greed and lying is a bipartisan affair.
This week The New York Times caught politician-liar, Rep. Elect George Santos (R-NY) in some real whoppers.
Appearing on several TV interviews, Santos wasn’t sorry for what he did. Instead he praised himself for his “courage” in admitting what he did, because he said, like all of us, he is “flawed.”
What the little dickens is referring to is his lying, during his campaign, about where he went to school, where he worked, and the false claim that he was Jewish.
Otherwise, he was good to go.
At these times it’s nice to think about former President Donald Trump.
In 2018, after a stalemate with Congress that closed several government departments, Trump stayed in the White House over Christmas.
“I thought it would be wrong for me to be with my family,” he told reporters.
“My family is in Florida, and I just didn’t want to go down and be there when other people are hurting.”
It makes you yearn for the old days, when you could see the lights on at the White House on TV, at 6 in the morning, and you knew President Trump had come to work.
Hold the line, America.
Happy 2023.
Stay strong, Patriots.
