If I asked you, “Would you ever run for Congress? Serve as a judge? A mayor? District attorney?” you would probably cast your eyes down, shuffle your feet and say “Shucks. I’m not good enough.”
“These are positions in our society that are held in high esteem,” you would insist. “Only the cream of the crop could ever hope to be chosen.”
And that would seem to be true. The greatest minds in the history of our country have held such positions, and were humbled at the prospect of being part of guiding our nation.
But times have changed, and not for the better.
There’s Fani. And New York D.A. Bragg.
“Black Lives Matter” activist Rep. Cori Bush. Fire Alarm Rep. Bowman. Georgia Probate Judge Christina Peterson. Mayors Bowser and Lightfoot.
And that’s just part of the list.
You might notice these officials are black. And Democrats. I noticed that, too. But racial political profiling isn’t my point.
And if I were a Republican Congressman, I’d dilute my observations by saying, “…not that there aren’t disrespectful and dumb white Republican politicians, too…”
If I were. But I’m not. And I won’t.
The point is we have reached the Point of No Return when it comes to disrespectful and dumb “leaders,” whose sole goal is to enrich themselves.
Abraham Lincoln agonized over the nation’s problem of slavery. He prayed. He deliberated.
And after he had weighed what the cost would be to the country, not to himself, but to the country, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
It was a chance for every American to be all that they could be. Such as a member of Congress. A judge.
It was undeniably a freedom black slaves deserved, but with it came a responsibility.
Lincoln gave his life. Look at the behavior of the individuals in our government. How do they measure up?
This week Georgia Probate Judge Peterson was arrested for shoving a cop outside an Atlanta nightclub, in what was described as “a profanity-laden scuffle.”
Shoeless and anything but contrite inside a cop car, the good judge refused to give her name, saying, “They can take a fingerprint and find out who I am.”
The Georgia Supreme Court removed her from office.
Georgia District Attorney Fani is up for review and removal, for corruption in the performance of her duties.
Last week Fani’s sweetie, Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade, was interviewed by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. Asked about Fani, in the Donald Trump RICO case, brought by her, Wade was rendered speechless, not to mention spineless.
Wade had to leave to consult with a media consultant to be told what to say.
D.C. Mayor Bowser has record car jackings and crime in her city, but made time to paint 50-foot-tall “Black Lives Matter” letters on 16th Street NW.
Former Chicago Mayor Lightfoot made dance videos while her city’s crime rates soared and soared.
Vice President Kamala encouraged Twitter users to make donations to bail out George-Floyd rioters.
Rep. Cori Bush advocated defunding the police while spending $140,000 for her own personal security detail, one of whom is an “anti-Semitic spiritual guru.
Really.
This week D.A. Bragg let the Columbia-Anti-Semitic rioters go free.
And we pay taxes for this.
But don't despair. There is light at the end of that tunnel.
Yesterday Rep. Jamaal Bowman was defeated in his primary.
Jumping up and down at a rally with Ocasio-Cortez, both shouting pro-Hamas-anti-Israel rhetoric, Bowman’s potty-mouth comments didn’t do him any good.
“We’re all going to show f***ing AIPAC (pro-Israel advocates American Israel Public Affairs Committee) the power of the mother***king South Bronx.”
It wasn’t just his anti-Semitic sentiments that sunk him. Or that the Bronx loved Trump better.
It was the fact that he and Ocasio Cortez both represent New York, a great city that is awash with crime, and it never occurred to them to do something to protect their constituents.
Or to do their jobs.
So black isn’t the issue here.
But black or white, this ain’t right.
Hold the line, America.
Stay strong, Patriots.
