“Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it.” Laurence J. Peter, The Peter Principle

Bad decisions don’t seem bad when you make them. It’s only later that you regret doing what you did.
Like when you sell your soul to the Devil.
Jesus was able to resist the Devil tempting him for forty days and forty nights. But Dr. Faustus, a brilliant scholar, frustrated with his law, justice and science research, sold his soul for unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures.
Jabez Stone, a down-on-his-luck farmer in The Devil and Daniel Webster, sold his soul for seven years of wealth and good luck. He became wealthy, but ended up a mean and cruel man.
Fame. Money. Power. They are powerful aphrodisiacs.
It’s like the heady feeling you get when you sign up for a zero percent balance transfer, thinking it will be a walk in the park to pay it off in twelve months. But then you don’t.
That's where Joe is now.
Joe has led a mean-spirited, messy life.
He has always been lazy, stupid, a little creepy, a liar and a crook.
But there came the day when someone saw he could be useful despite his shortcomings.
That was when the Devil made his offer, and Joe became president.
But it wasn’t just the Devil who was responsible for Joe’s flawed rise to fame. Joe hung out with the wrong crowd, and that crowd was his family.
In 2019 Adam Entous wrote a piece for The New Yorker, The Untold Story of the Biden Family. He described the family’s “fraught relationship with money, class and alcohol.”
The writer wrote that Hunter Biden told him, “After church his father would sometimes drive him and his brother, Beau, through wealthy neighborhoods, where they would sneak onto empty estates.
“If the front door was locked, the boys’ father (Joe) would hoist them through a second-floor window, and they would run downstairs and let him in.
“If a real estate agent arrived when they were there, Biden, who at this point was a senator, would charm the agent into giving them a tour.”
Joe’s father did the same thing, taking his family on drives through wealthy neighborhoods, Joe’s brother James told Entous.
Joe built his brand by claiming to be Middle Class Joe, but their father seemed to be ashamed of their middle-class life, Jimmy noted.
After Joe became a senator, Joe, Sr. abruptly left his job at a car dealership. “This is embarrassing. I can’t be in the car business,” he said.
Whatever dysfunction may have been in Joe’s family, Joe carried it further.
He chose to compromise his role as senator, president and father by pursuing his family’s appetite for money and fame. And passing it on to his son.
Now the Devil is demanding his due.
This week former Biden business associate, Tony Bobulinski, testified before the House impeachment committee.
“The Chinese Communist Party, through its surrogate China Energy Company Limited, successfully sought to infiltrate and compromise Joe Biden and the Obama-Biden White House.”
Vice President Biden was compromised, Bobulinski said. It began in 2015, and Biden remained compromised even after he left office in 2016.
Suspicious activity reports show that Biden family members received a $1.3 million dollar cut from another Hunter business partner, who received $3 million dollars from the CEFC in 2017.
And this week Special Counsel Robert Hur released his report on Biden’s handling of classified documents.
“Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency, when he was a private citizen.”
But, despite evidence that Biden’s actions “present serious risks to national security,” Hur said, he would not recommend charges against him because of Biden’s diminished mental capacity to stand trial.
This is usually a decision for the trial judge.
But at least, finally, someone said it out loud. The President of the United States has dementia.
And Joe’s days of wine and roses are over. His contact is up.
But that’s the way it works. When you sell your soul.
Hold the line, America.
Happy Valentine's Day.
Stay strong, Patriots.
