"So often in the past there has been a division between left and right, between capitalism and communists or socialists, and especially in the Americas, that's been a big debate...Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works. You don't have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory. You should just decide what works." Barack Obama, Addressing Students in Argentina, March 2016

It sounded like a rhetorical question when FOX News asked it: "Did Obama take enough time to address the terrorist attacks in Brussels?"
But if an answer was expected, it would have to be, "Does he ever?"
Did he devote enough time when journalist James Foley was beheaded? I recall seeing Obama turning away from the cameras and resuming his golf game.
When U.S. soldiers were killed at Fort Hood, did he give it his immediate attention, or did he give a lengthy, inappropriate "shout out" to Dr. Joe Medicine Crow, then sandwich a reference to the massacre several minutes into his speech?
He's a Johnny-come-lately, always playing the waiting game and always missing in action when the tough stuff goes down.
This leader of the western world waited an embarrassing amount of time after 150 people were killed in Paris, and was conspicuously missing when other world leaders marched in Paris in a show of solidarity.
When Christians were persecuted, tortured and killed by Islamic terrorists, he ignored it. When he does mention Christians, it is to preach about the evil deeds that have been committed in the name of Christianity.
So why should Brussels be any different?
Every holiday Americans wait in nervous anticipation to see what negative barbs he will include in his speech, from the injustices done to American Indians at Thanksgiving, to calling the Pilgrims the "first illegal immigrants."
So why should Brussels be any different?
It's always the same stale platitudes: "Our hearts and prayers go out to...We will do whatever is necessary to support...We will not rest until we bring to justice those responsible..." and "My top priority is ISIL." But it isn't.
Obama has chosen a side. He unfailingly throws himself in front of Muslims to defend them from us. He does it in every speech he delivers. He shows it in every action he takes as president.
It's a gift.
And providing that the FBI and the Department of Justice don't throw the book at Hillary, the Democratic mantle could pass to a gal who dances to the same tune. Don't forget for a minute, Hillary and Obama were as thick as thieves with the bogus story they wove around the attack in Benghazi.
But how unfair is it to be saying all of this?
All the president probably needs is a mom to set him straight, to tell him, "Barry, don't you try to con me! I saw you when you didn't go to that Supreme Court justice's funeral, making believe you had important work to do, walking to your office with a fat file of 'potential Supreme Court nominees' under your arm! You think you're fooling me?
"Same with those terrorists in Brussels. You were too busy living it up in Cuba and Argentina, playing the fool, making believe you weren't having fun, that it was you "Not giving in to terrorism,' when you just wanted to hang out with Communists like you did when you were a little boy. I warned you not to do that! You're supposed to be the president of the United States!"
Because despite what his critics say, Obama does have a plan to attack ISIL.
He's going to dance the tango like no one is watching.
He's going to do the wave with Communists at baseball games with abandon and glee.
Because, as Chris Cuomo recently said while covering Obama's "historic" trip to Cuba, "What is the point of this Communist regime if it is not truly to make everyone equal, not at the lowest level, not by demoralizing everyone, but lifting everyone up."
President Obama's feelings exactly.
Surely this kind of thinking and this kind of behavior will show ISIL that the U.S. still has what it takes, and that our president means business.
Hold the line, America.
