Isn’t it fun watching Mayor DeBlasio and President Obama do their thing?
From their mutual love of Cuba and the charming Castro brothers, to their admiration for former Venezuelan Marxist ruler Hugo Chavez.
What a wacky duo! These guys are brothers from a different mother!
But this month the guys have been acting more strangely than usual. Maybe it’s the "Spring Ahead” thing with the clock. That is confusing.
Why, in the past weeks alone the mayor missed half the St. Paddy’s Day Parade in the Rockaways and was a quarter of an hour late for St. Patrick’s Day mass!
It had to be the time change. Nobody’s that rude.
Happily de Blasio wasn’t late for the NYC’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, but that was because he didn’t go. He protested the absence of an LGBT group, marching under its own flag.
Now I myself would have protested for The Lollipop League because they do such fine work, but nonetheless you have to admit, the mayor sure does represent the wishes of all New Yorkers!
Just like our president. They know what the people want.
But lately the president is off his game, too. Well, more than usual.
It’s not his March Madness brackets. He’s on top of those. It is his very public and very deliberate Middle East war with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his curious affection for Iran.
Even though the president still has his "Pen and Phone,” he refused to use his phone to call Netanyahu to congratulate him on his win in the recent Israeli election.
That is traditional, a diplomatic courtesy. So why in the heck did he drag his feet?
It could be because the president is miffed. And because he’s embarrassed!
The back story is our administration had a hand in attempting to unseat Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But it didn’t work! That’s gotta’ hurt.
An advance team was sent to Israel, headed by a man who ran the president’s own re-election campaign! Except this time the administration did not want the team to ensure success for Netanyahu. It was a "Negative Novena” type of mission.
He wanted to help Netanyahu lose. He wanted someone more liberal. Someone who didn’t talk about the threat Iran poses to the world.
But, unlike the administration’s machinations in Ferguson, this time Obama didn’t get his way. Netanyahu won. Actually, he didn’t just win. It was a landslide! And Obama and the Democrats and the mainstream media are furious!
They thought Netanyahu was a shoo-in for defeat and were stunned when that didn’t happen. After all, rent-a-mob methods have always worked for this administration in the past.
The state-controlled media were poised to gloat.
Andrea Mitchell even flew to Israel to bear witness to Netanyahu’s defeat and CNN’s Christiane Amanpour was her usual anti-American self. The rest of the mainstream networks just fell into line, predicting doom and gloom because Netanyahu was once again prime minister of Israel.
It is important to note they were talking about one of our most loyal allies.
After that, in a way typical for this administration, Democrats, the president and the mainstream media borrowed a page from the Obama play book and did the only thing they could. They accused Netanyahu of racism!
Then they announced the president would bypass Congress and most likely support a U.N. Security Council resolution for peace with Palestine, against Israel in a two-state peace settlement between Israel and Palestine.
Ninety-three percent of Americans like Netanyahu. Ninety-three percent of them were delighted to hear his address to Congress. It was the first time they understood what Obama planned in forging an agreement with Iran.
And they got it. The plan wasn’t good.
But our president knew just what to do to keep our nation safe. He made a YouTube video-address to encourage the young people of Iran to embrace a nuclear "deal” with America. This would, he said, open the door to jobs and opportunities for them that they deserve, for cultural exchanges, travel abroad.
Yes, that’s what I said he said.
He wished them Happy Nowruz (Persian New Year);
He praised the fatwa Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei issued against the development of nuclear weapons (there was never one);
And was clearly snug as a bug in a rug, throwing around Persian(?), Arabic (?) phrases with all the aplomb of a native Iranian. It was great. He was great. He looked and sounded like a wonderful president -- for the Iranians.
If only, you might say, he would advocate for American young ‘uns, the college graduates that don’t have jobs, the ones who have to move back in with mom and dad, the black American youth with a 16 percent unemployment rate.
But he didn’t.
He poured it on with one of America’s arch enemies, a leading state sponsor of jihadist terror, the one who calls America "Great Satan” and Israel, our ally, "Little Satan.” And he was loving it.
I can’t imagine why, but some people didn’t like what they heard. Radio Host Mark Levin didn’t. We’re reprinting his comments from the Hannity Show, broadcast March 18, 2015.
MARK LEVIN: "He doesn’t like Congress. He’s got his pen and his phone. And when Congress doesn’t do what he says, he’s off doing his best Benito Mussolini. He doesn’t like Netanyahu. Netanyahu just won in a landslide; Obama’s never won in a landslide. The American people rose up in November and told Obama how they are disgusted with his programs and his policies. And what did he do? He turned around and spat in our faces. And he does the same in 2010 when they lose the House of Representatives.
"Obama has more ability to work with dictators and genocidal types than he does with people who are elected democratically. The fact of the matter is…and this is important. Eric Holder said that this nation is full of cowards because we won’t have a discussion about race. Well, I think this nation needs to have a discussion about what’s going on in this White House and this administration about anti-Semitism. Because this White House and it’s reaching out to Sharpton, the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR, all these radical nut jobs and groups, their policies…it’s not just Netanyahu. They’re willing to throw Israel over the side for the Islam regime in Tehran.
"This president’s former relationships with Rachid Khalidi, the professor in Columbia now, with Wright, the so-called reverend from Chicago. This president has a lot to answer for, and his conduct is contemptible. And I don’t care how many liberal Democrat donors –hold on now. I don’t care how many liberal Democrat donors he has who are Jewish. He can hide behind them all he wants. But Mr. Holder, Mr. Obama, let’s have a national discussion about the anti-Semitism that reeks from your administration.”
