It certainly can take the wind out of your sails.
A Newbie blows into town and does your job better than you do.
It really hurts.
The new guy doesn't need the money. He owes nothin' to nobody. And to put the icing on the cake, he's not afraid.
Of anything.
The Deep State and the Swamp hate him. And the fact that in the three years he's been in charge, the U.S. economy has become the envy of the world, this has made them hate him even more.
Cutting unemployment. Making other nations pay their fair share in trade agreements. His success confused everyone.
Obama told them the only place the U.S. was going was down. That a fading U.S. was the new normal.
Heck. Trump was even making Obama look bad.
It was clear to the Democrat machine what needed to be done, even before Trump was sworn in.
Impeachment. They knew they couldn't beat him in the 2020 election, not with the slate of candidates they had.
Voters saw it on the debate stage. One candidate was nuttier than the next, and their Leftist Democrat platforms were even worse.
Their bad was so bad they had to beat the bushes to find someone who wasn't a Communist to run on their ticket.
Preferably one that wasn't exhibiting symptoms of early onset dementia. Someone without graft and foreign corruption.
One who didn't promise to give the store away.
Just anyone who didn't scare the bejesus out of Americans.
The "best" they could come up with was Michael Bloomberg, with Hillary Clinton in the default position.
Bloomberg is still hung up on controlling the size of your soft drink, and crazy about Climate Change, jetting off to Brazil this week to join Greta.
And Hillary is still coughing and falling down.
This is their best.
In this Christmas season, while small children are spying to see if reindeer really know how to fly, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz released his report. The one he's been writing for a year.
His report said the FBI did not "spy" on then-candidate, and later President Trump, and that the FBI had justification for launching the counterintelligence probe in 2016.
He found no bias. Not even with those e-mails between FBI Agents Strzok and Page.
Not even with former FBI Director James Comey leaking documents to a buddy, then to The New York Times, to get Robert Mueller on board. Or the antics of McCabe and the Ohrs.
There were serious errors and omissions, the report said. Seventeen. But no bias, because the subjects interviewed said there were none.
And if there were mistakes, the report said they were unintentional.
In the past weeks, it was easy to see that Nadler, Schiff, Pelosi and other Liberals are frustrated, when they repeatedly quoted the Founding Fathers.
All while their "investigations" shredded the Constitution: Denying the "defendant" the right to confront his accuser. Holding secret meetings, and taking secret testimony. In secret. And leaking whatever testimony benefited their goal.
Impeachment.
"I come from the home state of Joe McCarthy," Wisconsin Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner observed during the Nadler hearings. "I met him when I was just getting into politics, when I was a teenager. And you folks have made Joe McCarthy look like a piker."
Luckily there are still people who don't just quote the Founding Fathers, but who act like them.
Like George Washington University Constitutional law Prof. Jonathan Turley, a Democrat, who testifed on behalf of the U.S. Constitution before Nadler's House Judiciary Committee.
Then received death threats.
Like Prof. Alan Dershowitz, also a Democrat, who consistently defends the Rule of Law, regardless of party, and has been disinvited to parties on Martha Vineyard ever since.
And like Donald Trump.
Unlike these men, Horowitz, the Obama-appointee, wasn't man enough to endure being ostracized, especially not by his Intelligence Community colleagues.
