Our language has been so bastardized that Merriam-Webster (two brothers, George and Charles Merriam and Noah Webster) would be spinning in their graves.
Apparently Joe doesn't get what "emergency" means. But then again, there's a lot Joe doesn't get.
When oil prices plummeted to a dangerously low level because of a pricing war between Saudi Arabia and Russia, President Trump bailed out the oil industry by purchasing 30 million barrels of oil for the U.S. Strtegic Petroleum Reserve.
He purchased the oil at $25 per barrel, down from $50 at that time.
"It is a common sense move," Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette said. "Everyone who has done any version of investing knows you try to buy low and sell high. The same goes for filling the SPR over time."
Apparently, like the "Ants and the Grasshopper," Grasshopper Joe doesn't understand what Ant Trump did.
Instead, Joe drove up the cost of oil, then bought at over $100 a barrel from our enemies, at the same time, using up reserves that was meant for a rainy day.
For "emergencies."
Look up the word "emergency," Joe. And look up the phrase, "The buck stops here."
Hang tough.
