Rush Hudson Limbaugh, III died today.

This remarkable man carved out a remarkable career, despite a road to success that was not easy.

At age 16 he worked at a local radio station. He was fired from a couple of stations.

He dropped out of college after two semesters, and in 2001 he lost his hearing. At one point he was addicted to prescription drugs, but a little known fact was he reached out, over the course of his life, to anyone he heard had any kind of addiction.

Regardless of their politics.

Never a quitter, he carried on. He never worried about what people thought of him, and he told his audience to do the same in their lives. But most of all, he was grateful. And had a great sense of humor at the multi-faceted thing we call Life.

The 30-year radio show he created had an audience that was devoted to him, because he was devoted to them.

And to America.

Just like the man who awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Men like them are loved and hated fiercely, something Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi will never know.

These types of brave, charismatic people come along once in a lifetime. That's why they are hated and loved so much.

To say he will be missed is an understatement of grave proportions.

Rest in peace, Dear Friend.

Hang tough.
