DeNiro used to be the strong, silent type. That's why people loved him. Well, that ship has sailed. Whether it's his becoming a father at an advanced age, or just because, but now DeNiro has become just another angry old man.
He rants and raves about Donald Trump as if he matters to Trump. His angry barbs are personal., and he speaks about Trump endlessly. His latest was at the Gotham Awards in November. When the Taxi-Driver discovered his nasty comments about Trump had been edited out of his prepared speech, DeNiro demanded to deliver the original.
"Lying has become just another tool in the charlatan's arsenal," he said angrily." The former president lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office, and he's keeping up the pace with his current campaign of retribution."
It's strange that he doesn't realize he is really speaking about Joe Biden, the man who lies and engages in retribution to his opponents. And now, after years of talking trash about Trump, he is running scared.
Last Friday he told Bill Maher, "If he wins the election, you won't be on the show anymore. He'll come looking for me."
Last night he told Jimmy Kimmel, "He's so f***ing stupid. He's a moron, but he's a crazy one.
"It's all out of insecurity. He's deeply, deeply insecure. He is a malignant narcissist. He's a socio-psychopath...Vote for Trump and you'll get the nightmare. Vote for Biden and we'll be back to normalcy."
You might be inclned to feel sorry for him. He seems a little nuts. And for some reason, he thinks Trump is thinking about him, when Trump is fending off multiple lawsuits from DeNiro's president, President Joe. Too bad. DeNiro used to be somebody.
